FEBRUARY CLUBHOUSE EVENT

BECKETT’S PRESENTS THEATRE VIGNETTE NO.6 - RBG: (Of Many, One)

The story of the famous Supreme Court Judge: RUTH BADERG INSBERG.
Thursday 23 February 2023, 6:00pm–10:00pm
Limited seats. One night only. Ticketed event.

Beckett’s first theatre-dinner kicks off the new year with a vignette from the hit play R.B.G by Suzie Miller, performed by Heather Mitchell. Its first production has set the Sydney theatre scene alight and won the STC Awards for the 'best performer in a leading role'. It follows hot on the trail of the playwright’s other recent success: 'Prima Facie' - a recent hit in the London West End.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the famous American Supreme Court Judge was affectionately known as RBG. Her role is played by actor Heather Mitchell (Playing Beatie Bow, The Harp in the South). RBG was highly regarded for her dissenting judgments against the conservative majority of America. She openly attacked President Donald Trump and refused to resign under Obama to make way for other 'men' despite her advanced years and ill health. She still had plenty to say! She served 27 years on the bench.

On this special night founder of Beckett’s: playwright/director Wendy Beckett will be introducing RGB’s actor: Heather Mitchell and the playwright: Suzie Miller!

Seated in an intimate setting with large tables of ten, this vignette will be performed for just 25 minutes in the restaurants' special cellar-area, downstairs. Accompanying this theatrical event will be a delicious four course meal created by BECKETTS own chef: Chef Jeff Schroeter (formerly of Bistro Moncur and Bayswater Brasserie). Savour a superb meal accompanied by a selection of wines. But book early!
